NEW DATES FOR 2009 CL T20

The BCCI,CA and CSA announced the rescheduling of the champions league T20 in 2009.

The three founding member boards reiterated that this was a goodwill response ti a request from the ICC to consider new playin dates fo 2009.

The CL T20 will now be held from October 8 to 23, the three cricket boards said in a joint statement.  In all 12 teams will be taking part in the competition.

The Champions League Twenty20 was scheduled to be held from september 25 to october 10, 2009 but the ICC has rescheduled the champions trophy from september 24 to october 5 2009 to be held in Pakistan.

Sice there is a clash of dates, the three founding member boards decided on the fresh dates for 2009 CL T20.

The inaugural Champions League T20 will be held from december 3 to 10 this year. Eight teams, consisting of the reigning winners and runners up from domestic T20 competions in India, Australia and South Africa along with the T20 champion from England, Pakistan have been invited to the contest the 2008 champions T20 League.

The tournament offers US$6 million prize money, the biggesr prize money in the world for cricket at a domestic competion level. The prize money, including US$3 million for the winning team, will be shared between the teams and their players.
